A Mes rate. Can, big thanks to Doug the Shoemaker.
Looks like a weiss. Hazy lemon yellow, slight brown hue and a thin lasting white head. Glorious wheat, banana, bubblegum and vanilla aroma. Similar flavour. Just a hint of very delicate sourness in the background. Clean as hell. Effortlessly drinkable. Fantastic wheat and vanilla aftertaste. Maybe I’d just like a touch more sourness, just a touch but overall, it’s really hard to fault. A damn good example of the style and almost certainly worthy of its number one status for style. Thanks Doug!

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2007 A bit over-rated in my opinion. Cloudy yellow/orange appearance with a nice white lace. Citrus, banana aroma with a definite wheaty character. Flavour shows loads of lemon, banana, low clove. Nice body for the style with a long fruity finish. 7 3 7 4 15 Rerate. Tap at Volo May 2007. Very cloudy yellow-brown beer with a thick creamy white head. Bright fruity aroma, clove, coriander, and bright lemony citrus. Flavour is all freshly baked bread mixed with sweet banana. Clove accented with a light earthy/noble hop flavour on the back. Crisp acidity plays off the rich bready malts and wheaty spice. The yeast is very fruity with a good balance of clove and spice. Very tasty.

A hazed yellow golden weissen with a thick big bubbled white head. A good aroma of frothy bananas, cloves, herbal notes, and bubble gum finale. In mouth, a smooth crisp oily banana malt with light cloves finale, well balanced and classic, up to par with the best German weizens. 500 ml can from Probstk, about 4 months old.

On tap - BeerBistro Toronto. Lemony/peppery aroma with a hazy yellow/orange colour. Tastes good and wheaty but I find this type of wheat beer too heavy.

Prominent yeasty mints and banana bubblegums effortlessly nourish this thirsty soul...Assertive dryness in the end slips in a few little lemons for an even more satisfying quenching experience...A marvelous example of spontaneity and easy-to-drink complexity...

Can thanks to Blutt59. I am assuming this lost something when canned as I am extremely disappointed! Pours with a small white head and a murky golden body. Aroma of banana, butter, creamy vanilla and plastic. Taste is lemon, citrus, caramel and butter. Decent, but not an outstanding hefe! Medium bubbles and a dry finish. Not splendid by any means.

Can courtesy of matt7215. Pours a hazy amber with a thin white head. Smells of bananas, vegetal, coriander, sweet wheat. Tastes of citrus, spicy, some lemons, bananas. Decent.

Objectively speaking: A presumably constantly fresh and complete weizen. A sure bet in Toronto.
I like: Pleasant and polite equilibrium between esters and phenols, aptly leaning more towards banana esters. Crisp wheaty body with excellent extraction. Creamy, pie crust reminiscent richness. Very clean instead of playing on yeasty complexity. Extremely drinkable, sweeter than average and good-looking. Sweet, but certainly tart enough to compensate.
I dislike: Not as aromatic as I’d expected. I spent a few weeks in Austria and such very good hefes are just very common over there. I imagine that there are dozens of exa, ples which are just as good.
