Finally got to try this. Hazy orange-melon color with uneven bright white head. Not served in proper glass @ Cest What but still looks nice. Yeasty, sweet aroma. Lots of banana, orange, custard with nutmeg. Brilliantly soft mouthfeel. Creamy, silky. Fruity entry with melon and peach. Yeast stickinesss at end just enough, and ends up seeming dry and light. Lovely, admirable weissbier.

In short: A superior nourishing and refreshing Hefeweizen. Believe the hype
How: Tap at Volo, Toronto
The look: Cloudy dark yellow body topped by a large white head with medium retention
In long: Nose of lemon pie, coriander and orange peels. In mouth the beer feels very full with its big wheat body. Bready, doughy and crisp at the same time. Lemon pie, pancake, cloves, coriander, light acidity and tartness. One of the rare beer that manage to be both very nourishing and very refreshing, two desirable qualities that usually don’t come together, like a small ass and big tits.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2008 Huge banana aroma with some cloves and plenty of wheat character. Opaque yellow-blonde body is topped by a decent stand of bright, white, fine bubbled head that lasts throughout and coats the sides of the glass. Banana flavour is strong but never overpowers the wheat tartness with cloves shining through in the aftertaste. Very nicely blanced, the flavour evolves across the tastebuds. Medium light body with strong, crisp carbonation that cleanses the palate and awakens the mouth. Smooth texture. Excellent! Enjoyed on tap at C’est What! Original rating at C’est What? during the 2006 football season when the Als were in Toronto. Resampled during Grey Cup weekend 2007 at Caffe Volo with similar notes and score.

Draught at BarVolo. Pours a hazy yellow with an average size creamy white head. Aroma and flavour, to me, are primarily banana as most wheat beers are. Also wheat, sweet malt, clove, citrus and other fruit. Taste is too watery but it’s still very smooth and enjoyable. I don’t care for most wheat beers but I often get this one and will again. Denison’s rarely dissapoints.

[004-20060825] Tap @ Volo. Smells like grapefruit peel sitting in a wheat field. Yellow-golden, cloudy, has a tall, lasting head. Notably exotic spice, astringent qualities. Light-medium body, fizzy, complicated but comes together. A great summer beer!

Can. Dark cloudy yellow with big creamy white head. Soft wheat and banana nose. Flavour and body start out great and seems to fade by the middle of the glass. Soft lemony banana flavour. Delicious with the first sip and lemon and plain at the finish.

(Draught) At BeerBistro. Cloudy, honey yellow with a medium, white head. Nose of banana, mint and peach. Too smooth and drinkable! Very good.
