Unquestionably the brewery’s best seller, this amber-coloured ale with strong hints of citrus and a hoppy full flavour develops into an enjoyable bitter finish.

See: Auburn
Smell: Tropical fruits, hint of toffee.
Taste: Fruity, malty, full body

Bottle from Asda Carlisle. Clean golden colour with a thick, rather large bubbled, white head...it’s lasting well tho! An attractive floral/hoppy nose, and a medium bodied malty palate are both quite nice, this isn’t bad, could easily swallow a few of these! Nice!

Cask by hand-pump at Drum & Monkey, Glasgow - clear straw coloured, thin off-white head, medicinal fruity aroma, intermittent lacing, dry medicinal, sweetish, balanced

Cask at The Falcon, Ckapham Junction. Pours a light brown amber with a white head. Aroma is caramel and a little orange. Light body, light carbonation, thin. Light caramel, a little white wine, light toast, a little apple. Not great - it's too thin. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - golden orange and hazy with a decent head. Nose - delicate orange and biscuit. Taste - very unusual. A tangy sweet orange but without enough of either hoppy or biscuity freshness on the finish. Palate - close to medium bodied with a sweet tangy texture and a cloying sweet finish. Overall - points for being interesting but then it lost me.

Bottle. Amber coloured with a very thin head. Has a pleasant fruity character with orange notes evident in both aroma and taste.

Cask in the George and Dragon, Dent. Amber with a white head. Not too keen on this one. Slightly cheesy. Sweetish with a bitter finish. A touch of pine in there.

Brown 500ml bottle consummed during one of my ’random beer tasting evenings’ just on its best before date in Oct 2010.. The beer had an almost dull look to it, dirty gold/amber in colour, neat white foaming head on top. The aroma was a mild citrusy hop smell, nothing much though. The flavours were a pleasant blend of hops and malts. Slightly more hops, although the malts were more noticeable in the first instance. Mid bodyfeel, nothing heavy but certainly not watery in any way. An OK beer and just above average in most aspects.
