COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
A rich full flavoured, strong stout with a roast coffee aroma. The dominant roast character is balanced by a warming sweetness and a raisiny, fruit-cake taste which lingers on into the long aftertaste, making this a very satisfying drink.

Yeasty/dusty aroma reminiscent of Farley’s rusks on this dark brown beer with tan head. Initially sweet giving way to coffee grounds then red fruit. Finishing on a coffee note. Dried fruit makes itself known down the glass and a thin head is retained until the end. Fairly thick beer with light carbonation.

Strong porter like Winter Ale, dark almost black in colour. Taste is spicey dried fruit, Christmas fruit cake, chocolatey undercurrents and a nice hop kick on the finish.

Clear dark brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, coffee, fruity sour and vanilla notes. Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Opaque black with a slight tan head and no carbonation. Aroma of roasted malt, some toffee and a hint of creaminess. Surpsisingly light mouth feel, with sweet flavours of dark fruit, chocolate and caramel, finishing off pleasantly dry with some warming alcohol. Very good.

Caught this fellow after bagging a few birds in the Lakes. A fine stout, I would say, even though Lady Crabapple is the expert on such matters.
