Dec 2009: Half litre brown bottle poured into my ’La Chouffe’ tulip shaped glass. Lovely white head sat on top of a misty, dull golden body. Funny sort of pear and cooking apple smell came from the beer along with a stale almost musty feel to the aroma. The taste was stale and tired like. A flat, old lager beer that had been left for years and found again is what I thought this beer could have been. This is the first beer I’ve had from this brewery, I’ve got some more to review, I hope they improve. Not overly impressed at all. I was home alone reviewing this and had trouble finishing the bottle, very rare for he to have difficulty drinking a beer.

It’s dark-golden with a creamy, white head, and the aroma has notes of malt, hay, grain, light fruit, and it is a bit oxidiated. The moderately sweet flavour has the same notes, and it ends on a slight dry and sweet note.

The beer in the glass is very pale yellow, with roughly soapy crown that disappears very quickly. It smells sweet, grainy, with some bitter hops in the background. Starts unexpectedly sour, like a Zwickl. Slightly hoppy and grainy, dominant fruity and sour, like lemons. The middle part is fruity-grainy, still very tart and subtly hoppy .. Goes into a fruity sourish, hoppy, slightly yeasty finish.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass not too zippy, nice head. Starts surprisingly sourish, notes of lemon and sour apple. More and more spicy, modest dry, still fruity-sourish. Very interesting. Reminds me a little bit nof a gose. Really nice.

Bottle 500ml.

Clear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, toasted, grain, hay, light hoppy, sour malt, light sweet vegetables. Flavour is moderate sweet, light light acidic and light bitter with a average to long duration, acidic malty - citrus, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111126]

0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Golden color. Bready aroma with some honey and caramel. Bready and toffeish taste with hint of honey. Hint of metal in finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a hazy golden with a rough white head. Tart nose combined with sweet malts. Medium body, lowish carbonation the tartness dominates, ends dry. Clearly an infected edge here. 261111

Bottle. It’s a slightly hazy one, golden in color and with a dense, off-white head of moderate size. Malty nose with grass and some lemony notes. A light touch of wet cardboard too. Rather acidic flavor with a decent bitterness. Fruityness and pale malts. Medium body, semi-dry and a bit flat. An unusual one, not off or awful in any way, but the acidity and also something else I can’t identify makes me reluctant to want more of it. 111126

Bottle @ FOneFan. Slightly hazy deep golden with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, straw and hops. Flavour is malt, medium sweet, fruit, little acid, straw and hops.

Bottle @ Early Winter season 11/12 Part. 3, Ulfborg. Pours cloudy golden with a small egg white head. Crackers, grain and grass. Medium bodied. Fruity and weird phenolic.
