draft. cola brown, slightly murky. clove, peach and cardamom heavy nose. roasted banana and charred / scored clove dominate, and the roast and char as especially astringent, bold and overbearing. medium body with mostly soft carbonation, ester-heavy, very un-saison-like with an acrid scorched grain finish.

Tap @ DBC. Cloudy, dark reddish brown appearance with a tan head. Roasty, chocolate malty, slightly burnt caramel aroma with some light, fruity esters. Spicy, burnt caramel, tangy banana/citrus fruity, spicy yeasty flavor with a sticky, sugary aftertaste. This one is perplexing.

Dark brown with a moderate hazy - vaguely dunkelweizen-like, with strng wheat and dark bread notes (pumpernickel) - fairly strong clove phenols, as well as other spice notes (white pepper, cardamom) - a bit of all spice and vanilla - spicy finish - once you get past the fact that it is nothing like a saison, it is actually a pretty cool beer.

On tap at Denver Beer poured a clear brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of charcoal, earthiness, fruittiness and roasted malt. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of charcoal, roastiness, earthiness, light spice and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth dry lingering roasty finish.

Chocolate brown color with good carbonation and light head. This doesn’t really work for me. A bit flaccid and watery mouth. Some dark roasted malt aroma and flavor. Finish is has some saisony citrus and yeast flavors going on but subtle and disjointed.

Cloudy black with a very thin light tan head, fades kinda fast. Banana and light clove on the nose, with some estery fruity tones in the background. Like a saison crossed with a hefe. But the flavor is rich and rlight fruity yet with a smokey dark tone. Some bubblegum tones mix with some spicy apple and banana esters, yeastiness with a slight cocoa tone...perhaps also some cherry if I’m not mistaken. But still plenty yeasty and "saison-y". Wonderful.
