3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at the brewery. Pour is deep, opaque brown with a small tan head and great lacing. Roast, cocoa, coffee, light nutmeg, and cinnamon in the aroma. Taste is roasty, spicy, espresso, light pumpkin, and bread with an over roasted bitter finish. Full mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Pretty tasty porter but no real pumpkin flavors in the aroma or taste.
Earlier Rating: 10/26/2012 Total Score: 3.3
On tap at the brewery. Pour is clear amber with a small white head and no visible lacing. Somewhat muted aroma with notes of nutmeg, pumpkin, light cinnamon, and bread. Taste is sweet potatoes, nutmeg, basil, and biscuit with a light spicy finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Not a bad beer, but all of the elements were too muted for it to be anything special. There is some potential here, however.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Earthy pumpkin on nose along with caramel and roasted malts. Nice brown color, minimal head. Guessing the base for this is very similar to their graham cracker porter. A bit of pumpkin spice and more earthy pumpkin flavor, but again very even handed like most of the other beers I tried. Would happily drink this as a go-to pumpkin beer if I was in the mood.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black pour - fairly spicy aroma, with notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, with underlying notes of pumpkin and chocolate - the flavor is much the same - the spice profile is somewhat high, but balanced well by sweet vanilla and moderate roast from the malt - finish is a little watery, but this is pretty good.
