On tap at Denver Beer poured a clear dark reddish broiwn with a small lingering tan head. Aromaof roasted malt, bakers cocoa and coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bitter chocolate and light coffee with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

Clear black with a delightful aroma of sweet milk chocolate and very lightly roasted black grains. Flavor was thankfully a little more nuanced. Taste starts kinda chocolaty and roasty with little nuances of caramel and smokey roastiness come in, with just a nuance of vanilla. Ends a lite drier than I would like, but it’s a nice flavor ride, albeit a little too smoky/roasty/dry.

Tap @ brewery. Deep brown/black appearance with a small, cream colored head. Cocoa, coffee, rich vanilla aroma. Somewhat roasty, dark chocolate malty, light char, mild caramel, vanilla, espresso flavor. Not bad.

Tap. Pours deep, dark brown with a trace of fizzy, off-white head. Aroma is roast and caramel malt, funk, figs, milk chocolate, and earthy hops. Flavor is sweet malt forward with good supporting hops and dark fruit esters; semi-sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation with low warmth.

Fizzy dark brown - sweet lactose nose - abrasive, cola-like carbonation in the mouth - it also doesn’t help that the flavor has certain similarities to cola - sugary sweet - lightly acidic through the middle - a light bit of roast and chocolate on the tail end, but otherwise hard to drink.
