Taster at the brewery. Pours a thin, off white head, over a slightly hazy, amber (SRM 7) body....nose is nutmeg, cinnamon, hint of squash....taste is light spices, including nutmeg, cinnamon, toffee/caramel, with a light bitter finish....mouth feel light, carbonation medium. This is a light take on the "Pumpkin Pie" type of beer with the spices being done with a light hand leading to a more enjoyable experience. BJCP 7/3/12/4/7

Tap @ brewery. Clear amberish red with a lacing cap-head. Aroma of pumpkin bread, toasty malts, a bit of nutmeg, and biscuits. Taste is spices like nutmeg and cinnamon, though kinda subdued. Some pumpkin, some rye bread, not as sweet and pie-like as the non-rye batch.

Tap @ brewery. Clear, dark amber orange appearance with an off white head. Fairly tame aroma- mild rye, caramel, light pumpkin, light spice. Moderate rye malty, lightly nutty, caramel, mild to moderate pumpkin, slightly spicy flavor. Carbonation is again too high. Not super interesting but easy enough to drink. Wish it had more pumpkin flavor.

Quite similar to the regular pumpkin ale - moderately sweet, with notes of vanilla and nutmeg, maybe even a touch of coconut - the pumpkin adds an odd vegetal note not present in the original - rye is very subtle, adding just a gentle spice/bitterness to temper the sweetness - decent, but the vegetal notes are a bit of a turn off.

On tap at Denver Beer pured a clear orange ambe with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of clove, carmel, rye, earthiness and light cinnamon. Palate was medium bodied and crisp. Flavors of rye, carmel, clove, allspice and light cinnamon with a smooth lingering spiced finish.
