Draft in Denver. Pours a wheaty lemon flavor. Bready yeasty light summery flavor with a nice sessioabiloty

On tap @ Denver Beer Co. Mikly, turbid banana yellow pour. Gross looking. Nose is banana, bread, wheat, and yeast. Sweet banana candies as it sits. Flavor is heavy on the banana juice and banana candy. Grass, yeast, citrus peel, and wheat bread sweetness. Not offensive, but gross looking.

On tap at the brewery. Pour is hazy lemon with a small white head and good lacing. Aroma is light with notes of clove, straw, biscuit, and light banana. Taste is bright and fruity, although, a bit muted with fruity esters, corn, cereal, biscuit and light spice. Light body with fizzy carbonation. Highly drinkable, but a bit boring. I really wish the fruit and spice notes were more assertive.

Tap. Pours cloudy pale yellow with a trace of fizzy, white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is banana, cloves, candy sugar, straw malt, grassy hops, and herbs. Flavor is sweet malt forward with light fruit esters and faint hops; crisp, dry finish. Light body, medium carbonation, and low warmth.

arminjewell (6173) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 14, 2012
Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy golden pour with thin white head, aroma brought big sweet bubblegum, banana, esters, some biscuit and slight hints of vanilla as well, no spice to speak of. Taste is very sweet, nice banana, slight clove and bubblegum, hints of vanilla and biscuit with a hint of earth, finishing fairly sweet. More of a witbier style than what I think of a German hefeweizen.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2012 Tap @ Denver Beer Co. I really havenít had good luck with weizenbier here, so hopefully this bucks the trend. Bright, hazy, golden orange appearance with a white head. Banana pudding, light lemon citrusy, more banana pudding aroma. A little bitter, huge banana fruity flavor with a little bit of spiciness on the finish. Itís not that this is a bad beer per se, but the fruity elements are so over the top.

Compared to some of their other hefes, this one isnít quite as bad, but still seems geared towards those that do not actually like hefes, but instead simple want a light wheat beer - full and yeasty, but with a lot bready and grainy notes - lint notes of banana, but none of the other complex phenols you would expect - a bit of lemony tang on the tail end - nothing wrong with it, just boring and more like a straight up wheat beer.
