Wild Turkey bourbon barrels filled with our Oatmeal Stout. We pull 50 gallons of our stout off the fermenter and condition it for weeks in an oak cask fresh from the distillery.

At dinner with wife / had on draft @ Denver Chophouse. Goes by Wild Turkey Bourbon Stout. Pours a serious black. Loads of bourbon dominate the nose.. Taste is more bourbon and vanilla sweetness with some dark roasted malts. A complex BA stout with little to no carbonation. Just okay. At least my steak was good.

On tap at the brewpub (Wild Turkey Barrel). Pours with a clear near black body with a medium to small, off-white head. Aromas are sharp barrel, dark chocolate, esters and light smoke. Flavors are of cacao nibs, sweet, lactose, light whiskey, medium esters. Light bubbles with a smooth, albeit sweet finish.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a medium tan head. The aroma has loads of bourbon notes. Caramel, vanilla, paint, oak and hard roasted malt. Bit weird with the strong paint aroma. The flavour is oak, vanilla, paint, hard roasted malt and some alcohol. Too much weird paint aroma and flavour.

29-MAR-2011, bottle @Papsø tasting. Black with brown head. Nose is acetone! It can be tasted as well, but also sweet bourbon too. Too much acetone for me. Could be fantastic, but... ...nah!

Bottled. Deep dark brown coloured. Dense brown head. Aroma of sweetness, all sorts liqourice, chocolate, cocoa, roast. Flavour of roast, sweetness, roast, liqourice and some odd flavour I really can pin. Medium to full bodied. Dry roasty and sweet end.
