Sampled from beer platter at Denver Airport. Poured transparent amber brown. Smells of malted grains and roasted nuts. Tastes of bread grains, roasted barley, straw, grass, and some burnt sugar. Crispy body.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a brownish-amber color with a medium foamy light beige head that diminishes slowly. Stringy lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma of malt and nuts. Medium body with a sweet roasted nut character and flavors of malt, caramel and somewhat astringent hops throughout. The finish is roasted malt with a lingering hops aftertaste. Average beer overall that needs to find some middle ground.

tap at Denver ChopHouse - Pours light amber and has a caramel malt aroma. The flavor is also mainly of sweet caramel malt and has some roast character. It’s average.

A dark reddish brown lager with a thin off white head. A rather nutty aroma with boiled vegetables. In mouth, a oily nutty malt, with boiled veggies, light sweet caramel, solvent notes. Bland and boring. On tap at Denver Airport, August 28 2009

First rated at Denver airport location, re-rated at LoDo location.
Pours a deep amber with light red highlights. Nose is Airy isopryl alcohol. Flavor is thin, oaky bourbon with caramel malt undertones. A bit thin on the tongue but decent. A very nice surprise. I’d drink this again.

Not particularly a fan of this one. Weird flavor that I am strugling to identify. Sweet, caramel, and this weird bitterness I am not a fan of. Won’t order again.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized light brown colored bubbles that were and left behind a transparent softly carbonated light brown colored body. The mild aroma was brown malt. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of nutty and brown malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

Clear dark cola colored body, fine-bubbled tan head, silky lacing. Nose is toasted bread crusts, light bit of dryness/astringent roast, maybe a little peat picked up as well. Superb structure, frothy and full, very fresh tasting and satisfying overall. Mild lactic note in the finish develops when warmer but it doesn’t take away much from a well-made albeit simple dunkel.
