Pour is a hazed golden with an almost nonexistent head...smell is light and fruity with some apples and pears...toasty and sweet up front with a light grassy bitterness in the finish...why is this rated so low? Well done.

On tap - amberish yellow with a thin white head. Pinenut aromas. Has some unexpected bitter flavor. Good malt background. Nice beer. I’m starting to like this style.

Amber ale/lager like aroma. Orange-gold in color. Overall just another dirty lager to me. Notes: GABF ’09 visit

Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 17, 2012
Slightly golden colour that is a bit dull. The aroma is quite malty and a bit crackery. On the palate, this is very malty, a bit sticky, with some pale bread notes and a hint of toast. Not bad for the style, actually. For once, it actually made me ask if I thought it really was a dortmunder. Most of the time in the US it isnt close at all. Cool.

BMan1113VR (6501) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 20, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a crystal clear golden hued body with minimal head formation. Aromas are bready, grainy, crisp, with a bit of alcohol. Mild sulfur. Flavors are bready, clean and grainy with a light grassy character. Surprisingly noticeable alcohol character for such a small beer. Lighter bubbles, thin, clean.
