3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 rangerred (663) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - APR 22, 2012
Served on tap in a pint glass.
Arrived a hazy straw yellow with a one finger white head.
Aroma of bready grain and a little bit of fruit. Not a whole lot going on.
A pleasant breadyness jumps out immediately in the flavor. There is just a small amount of caramel along with some fruity hops contributing a light bitterness. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth.
Overall this is a pretty average Kolsch but it quite tasty and incredibly smooth. A great thirst quencher or session beer.

I am rating this beer relative to its respective style (something people should try more often). It is probably the best kolsch style ale I have tried, including some that were had in Germany. The appearance is a nice golden hue with a nice white two finger head. I would recommend this beer to anyone who enjoys good microbrewed beer. 3.9
