sweet fudge aroma with notes of vanilla and a deep roasted coffee flavour. dark ruby colour and creamy on the palate. one of my favorites

Has a dark brown colour. Very malty aroma and taste with a touch of vinous oak.

Cask (handpump) @ The Brewery Tap (Derby’s Royal Standard), Derwent Street, Derby, Derbyshire England DE1 2ED.
Clear medium to dark brown color with a average, fizzy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light moderate malty, caramel, light roasted, nutty notes, light to moderate hoppy, citrus - orange. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100117]

Cask, The Brewery Tap. Copper with a cream top. Barrelly aroma , damp wood. Big vinous and date fruit at the front again demolished by shampoo bitterness. Strawberry, hay and caramel hints. The bitterness feels chemical and not hop-derived. No better than drinkable.

Cask. Cear reddish brown with a rough off-white head. Roasted, nutty nose. Medium body, completely flat, sweet nut accents with both dried and overripe fruit. Lightly bitter finish. 170110

Lots of malt aroma. Copper mid brown coloured with a passion fruit flavour. Crisp on the palate with a little dryness and bitterness in a full malt finish.

Cask@Nottingham Beer Festival, 2008. Reddish brown beer with a lightly hopped and floral aroma, the flavour is malty, fruity and hopped. Overall an average beer.

Cask at the Brewery Tap, Derby. Bright copper with a thin cream head; malty aroma; thick and fruity with a nutty finish.

A Sim rate (cask at Nottingham BF): Nutty, brandy, malty. Looks nice dark brown with amber tinges. No head at all. Tastes bitter and malty, but nicely subtley hoppy. Bitter finish.
