Pale blond colour. It’s very thin and watery and lacks body and depth. Has a very bitter finish.

Cask conditioned at The Brewery Tap, Derby. Pale yellow gold with some head. Perfumed, quite thin and sharp beer, some bitterness, but not the hops that seem to be promised. Quite disappointing.

On cask handpull at the Derby brewing tap, derby. Pleasant enough blonde / pale ale, but with a distinct lack of hops, which goes against one’s expectations from the beer’s name. Drinkable but dull.

tried at the Barley Mow, fooled again by the pump clip, hop till you drop led me to believe that there’d be hops in this but it seems otherwise

Cask (handpump) at the Great British Beer Festival Day 2, August 2009. Yet another golden ale. Dry and quaffable but the hopping didn’t seem to have been too generous. This may work fine in a pub multi-pint session context. But in a festival setting, alongside scores of similar beers, many of which had manifestly higher hop rates and much greater depth of flavour, it just came across as desperately dull.

Cask @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.
Clear light to medium yellow orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, apple, raw onion, moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat to soft. [20090805]

A Mes rate. Cask at GBBF.
Yellow gold with a faint white collar. Very slight citric hops but mainly dominated by tea and unbrewedmalt. Not nearly enough hoppy character to deserve such a name. Next!

Cask@GBBF2009. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is quite much citrusfruit along with wood and some eggy notes. Flavour is very grassy and hayish. Mild nectary sweetness as well.
