Cask Handpump at the Royal Standard, Derby 11/07/2008 Strong malt aroma. Small white head. Golden amber coloured a little hoppy and smooth on the palate with some dryness and bitterness in a crisp full malt finish.

Cask at the Brewery Tap at the Royal Standard, Derby. On the roof terrace, with a fine view of the River Derwent. Amber with a white head. Old fashioned malty aroma. Sweet, smooth taste. Bitter finish. Very nice juicy bitter. Consulting my notes I see I wrote ’Very nice’ a second time. This was after kicking out at the Derby Festival and haddonsman and DJMonarch had led me to the nearest pub.
