4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 9, 2012
Oct 2011: Brown 500ml bottle, poured into a German glass tankard: wonderfully coloured beer, sparkling bronze body with a creamy head of tightly knit small bubbles: it truely looked great.
This beer is about the malts, Maris Otter, they dominate the brew, and I liked it. The hops (all whole) are Challenger, Goldings and Northdown: all subtle in their usage and each adding to the aroma and bitterness of the overal feel of the beer. The Maris Otter malts aren’t burnt, toasted or even roasted in this beer, they just impart some lovely semi-sweet molasses type flavours into the brew and make it a very good beer indeed.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 tommann (1446) - Dudley, West Midlands, ENGLAND - FEB 8, 2012

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 RichardGretton (3759) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 14, 2011
Bottle. Amber beer with a strong head. The aroma is hopped and roasted and the flavour is very bitter, roasted and toffee. Overall a very nice strongly flavoured English bitter.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 leaparsons (6324) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 2, 2009

2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 RPillsbury (115) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - JAN 22, 2009
Bottle. There was barely any aroma from this beer but I think I detected some honey. The flavours were slightly more developed with a bitter start and a nectarine aftertaste, however there is an unappealing sweetness that overshadows. The palate was a bit thin but had some nice carbonation.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 wyzzywyz22 (1525) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - JAN 12, 2009
Bottle, Red Zebra, Derby. Poured a reddy brown colour with a fading off white head.
Malty, toffee aroma. Flavour was quite sweet and nicely fruity, with some hop bitternesss in the finish. Enjoyed this ram.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 albertane (378) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2008
This chestnut beer lacks much aroma. The flavour is very sweet with honey as the predominant flavour. In fact, it goes so far as to be unbalanced and cloying.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DruncanVeasey (5146) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - SEP 23, 2008
Approaching ruby, beige lid and lace. Nuts and toffee aroma with dark dark fruity hedgerow hop, wet leaves, squeeze of dishcloth. Cask, cake and chocolate. Fudge hop fusion without sickliness. YEAH.
