A Mes rate: Gravicask at The Junction Tavern. Must point out that this was probably a little past its best. Amber colour. Malty aroma. Very little happening in the mouth. Bitter hops on the way down. Dull but nothing out of order about it.

Cask hand-pump at the Waggon & Horses (JDW), Alfreton, Derbyshire. A slightly hazy mid-brown colour with a cream head; earthy malty aroma; smooth and silky in the mouth with a good grapefruit finish.

Cask (handpulled) at the Flowerpot, Derby. Promising debut from another new Derbyshire brewery; ruddy brown body, no head, thin feel but some good dusky fruits in there. Just a few steps away from greatness, which is very impressive for a first commercial brew.

hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Ruddy chestnut Bitter, with a nice beige, foamy head. Fruity, flowery hop. Fresh, grassy, approaching-Summer feeling. A little watery and spread out, but a good quencher. nice finish with elderflower to this great first output.
