2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - FEB 23, 2010
Cask handpull, The Crown, Nuneaton. Dusty orange with a slim white head. Squeaky teeth from the hops; astringent and a bit vegetal, faint biscuits, apricot. ’Bitters’ says Pops, but I couldn’t comment. Certainly a scrub of dog that’s been wriggling in the canal. Decent vanilla and pale nutty accents, but the hops vanish into astringency. It’s alright.
