COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
(Translation from French):
This Blonde beer is the first product of Christophe Noyon, slightly bitter and delicately fruity. Brewed by infusion, its ancient-style manufacture respects the work of time. The malted barley and the hops release the best from themselves. The wort thus obtained, in contact with the yeast, by a subtle alchemy, is transformed into beer... The fine layer of yeast which settles in the bottom of the bottle is a sign of quality. A combination of strength and subtlety. A pure malt beer with a wide palette of flavours to drink as an aperitif or to accompany country-style cooking (mussels and chips, herrings, poultry, stews, etc.).

Had to really fight to get much head out of this one, but once it was going it was okay, in fact lasting quite awhile, must be lots of yeast in the recipe. Soft aroma of hops and malts, very faint. Taste is a little malt, a little hop, some alcohol sting. Not too interesting or complex, but very drinkable.

Brown 33cl bottle, best before 31st Dec 2012. Poured into a ’Hoegaarden Grand Cru’ stemmed tulip. This is the first beer in an ’odd ball reviewing evening’ (June 2011). Almost pilsner in looks, bright golden yellow with a good deep snow white foaming head. I left the sediment in the bottle, hence the clean, clear appearance. The yeasty aroma tells you it isn’t a pilsner, the smell is a good blend of mixed herbs and spices along with the yeast esters. The flavours found in the smell are all there within the taste also, lovely well balanced brew which has good carbonisation and an alcohol content that is happy to stay in the background rather than taking over like some beers within this style. A peppery feel in the aftertatse, very pleasant. A good beer, easy to drink and one of the best I’ve had from France (who as brewers are going up in my estimation).

Big offwhite head. Slightly hazy yellow body with strong carbonation. Fruity herbal aroma with papery notes. Fairly bland. Dry-sweet herbal fruity taste with honey and paper notes. Light body. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish mealy honey aftertaste with papery notes. Very bland and boring, but perfectly drinkable. (0.33l bottle, I forget where from.)
