3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 PilsnerPeter (2959) - Flushing, USA - JAN 11, 2010
Bottle shared at puzzl’s New Year’s Eve 2009: Hazy murky brown pour with a fluffy off white head. Unique phenolic yeast aroma- quite dry with a soft coffee presence- interesting. Fluffy body- gritty and dry with a lactic tart presence. Clean otherwise with very mild subtle coffee notes behind the dry phenolics. A unique Sour Ale.

22nd September 2009 Cloudy brown beer, frothy white head. Crisp and dry palate. Tart and sour with a little fruit. Finishes airy and dry and sour. Not bad but not much else going on but sourness.

330ml from Cave à Bulle.
Appearance : Deep amber medium foamy brown-ish head. Some lacing.
Aroma : Big brett. Some resinous bretty and hoppy notes. Acidic with red fruits. Funky and barnyard.
Taste : Lots of brett with some acidity. Very light tartness. Light fruits, light caramel. Light hops. Finish is acidic with lots of brett.Fairly dry wit light bitterness.
Palate : Fizzy carbonation. Fairly thin palate.
Overall : Nice brett, nice funk. I’m not a fan of darker brett beers. I feel like brett goes better in a blonde beer. Fairly drinkable. Nice brett fix but not my type of wild ale.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 thewolf (8638) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUN 22, 2011
Bottle, bought @ Cave de Bulles, Paris. [thanks bigbro]
Pours muddy orange-amber with a big, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has heavy brett, cocoa-powder, sweet malts. High carbonation, fairly light (but not thin) mouthfeel. Good dryness. Flavour has clear cocoa, coffee, caramel malts, light lactic, lots of funk and brett. Long, lingering dry funky aftertaste. A seriously strange beast, but very lovely, actually.

Reddish brown color with a small, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of some roast, dark fruits, wild yeast, and wood. Taste of dark fruits, cocoa nibs, roast, and a wild finish.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 rand (820) - SWITZERLAND - DEC 18, 2010
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 28, 2010
A mahoganny brown ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a classic sour ale with loads of epsom salts, ground cherry, lactic points, quite nice. In mouth, a sourish pulp skin with light lactic points, sustained citric acid, a bit of butter, lighter bodied, not bad. 330 ml bottle from Cave à Bulles, May 2010. BB October 2010.
3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 DeanF (1484) - Iqaluit, Nunavut, CANADA - OCT 29, 2010
Nice pour, brown to jet-black body with a fair amount of head. The aroma is an odd mix of sour ale, mahogany, oak, and chocolate. The taste is exactly like sour ale mix with cocoa. It doesn’t -not- work, but it doesn’t quite totally work, either. The two aren’t working in perfect harmony.

Pours a medium brownish color. Aromas of dark fruit, yeast, and a touch of wood. Flavor is sour, yeasty, wood, and a couple of sweet tarts.

I expected a great beer but this one is the weakest who comes from this amazing Des Vignes Brewery. The coffee aroma is okay but taste is too light for that type of beer. Just an ok beer not memorable
