Commercial Description:
Deschutes Brewery's summer bond Street Series offers yet another refreshing, hot weather quencher to complement Twilight Ale. This unique Belgian-style wheat beer was brewed with zested Curacao orange peel and just enough spices to keep your taste buds guessing. Our brewers tinkered with the recipe for months at the Public House in Bend, Oregon, before perfecting what will arrive on shelves in 22-ounce bottles this June. One prototype of the Wit was sampled at Portland's Spring Beer and Wine Festival in March, where it earned a gold medal.

22 oz. bottle courtesy of golubj. Clear, light yellow color. Thin, bubbly white head. Slightly floral aroma with hints of pepper. Grassy flavor with subtle citrus zest. Dry, clean finish. Nice beer.

Bottled. A decent wit but I imagine this is better when it is fresh. I think I let this sit in my cellar a little too long. It was still good, but I bet it was better a few months ago. All the normal attributes of a good wit but they all seemed a bit muted from sitting.

Pours my favorite light straw with a hint of orange and a frothy white head. Mellow aroma of lightly oxidized hops (bottle isn’t that old?), lightly sweet wheat, vague banana esters, hint of orange peel and lemon. Pretty simple beer with delicate flavors, I’m not sure why its oxidized so much... but I bet this was pretty awesome fresh. Some sweet candied wheat and some gritty unmalted wheat, love that hint of sourness, orange peel and lemon zest. Long coriander finish. Medium body with smooth glassy but crisp carbonation, slightly gritty. A decent understated wit that I wish was fresh.

22 oz bottle. Some sweet aromas with some floral notes. Flavors were not as sweet. Citrus and bright fruits but heavy on the wheat twang. Just okay.

Bottle. Sweet coriander and somewhat chalky aroma. Clear for style, yellow with thin head. Dry and chalky, light coriander and very little citrus. Thin. Boring.

Clear gold. Very carbonated. Thin head. Nice light pepper aroma. Light pepper flavour builds to long lasting peppery aftertaste. (Soft table pepper) Like a peppery golden ale.

Bomber. Pours slightly hazy yellow-golden with a small white head. Aroma is sweetish malt, witbier yeast and spices, with quite a bit of coriander. Flavor is similar, with a noticeable bit of orange peel. Not going to win any excitement awards, but it all comes together nicely.

Draught @ Deschutes Brewery and Public House, Portland, OR. Pours a hazy pale golden color with a small white head. Has a slightly sweet yeasty spicy citrus aroma. Sweetish spivy citrus flavor with some hints of yeast. Has a fruity malty yeasty finish with hints of citrus in the aftertaste.
