COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hops arenít the only fun ingredient to play with in an IPA. In this take on a northwest staple style, we pulled all the caramel and pale malt out. Pilsner and flaked oats provide the base for the citrus and pine aroma of simcoe and experimental hop #369. Enjoy you hop lovers!

On tap @ Deschutes Portland. Told that this is Inversion, just with a pilsner malt base instead. The hop profile is indeed just like Inversion - assertive, piney, fresh, dominant. Iíve really enjoyed their Chainbreaker so I can get great hop flavor in a lighter package, and this is similar in that regard.

Sample given to us at a Deshutes tasting at Summit Saloon in Bend,Or. then opted for a pint as they had it as a guest tap from Portland. Pours a orangy clear Pilsner style but with a really great hop aroma. We were immediately impressed with the citrus hop essence and went to buy a full pint. We are 23 year Deschutes veterans and this was one of the most exciting new brews we have tried. Hope it is available locally soon.

On tap at the Deschutes Brewery & Public House in downtown Portland, OR. The beer I had was listed as Angler IPA 2.0 so I can only assume there have been some tweaks made to the original Angler. Pale yellowish-orange pour with a fluffy white head. Grassy and piney hops greet the nose from 3 feet away. Really nice hop flavor of pine needles and fresh cut grass with a light malty profile that provides a nice balance. Finishes clean and not too heavy but lets you know of its hop assertiveness. Very nicely done.

On tap at the Portland brewery. I had a sampler and then a full pint of this: nice brew! Pours a cloudy bright orange color with a large white head. A sweet huge fruity nose, lemon and oranges. A mellow flavor dominated by fruity hops, citrus, light bitterness, lots of fresh hoppy smooth goodness.
