COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Itís fitting this experimental pale ale was the first beer brewed at our Portland Pub. This XPA gets its bitter twist from Nugget, and Northern Brewer hops, then delivers a pronounced citrus kick from Cascade, Centennial and Citra hops. Consider this your next hop obsession.

Poured a nice hazy orange from a bomber into a pint glass. Aroma was pine with some sweetness and a bit of citrus. Taste was better, with a great balance and more hop character than youíd expect with its 58 IBUs. A touch more carbonation than I would like, but thatís a minor quibble. This had just the right balance of flavor and easy-drinking quality for a hot summer day.

22 oz bomber shared, purchased at Tipsyís. Smooth and moderately bitter with notes of citrus hops, floral notes, light herbs, tropical fruits and light zest. Pretty tasty.

22 oz bottle. Tasted on 2/18/15. Bottle courtesy of Judy & Pete. Had notes of light citrus & earthy tones to it. Taste was light with a smooth easy to drink flavor. Overall an alright beer for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance has a nice dark orange hue supporting a healthy head leaving fair lace. Smell of the hops with a sweet malt mixed with citrus. Taste has that sweet malt with a slight grapefruit in the back and a nice balance with the hops. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. A very smooth easy drinking pale ale.

Bomber from Rothís. Deep amber in color. Nose is bready with a slightly spicy hop kick. Hoppy up front, followed by some breadiness. A fairly full mouthfeel. Decent little hop finish.

Pours hazy orange-amber with a medium beige head, very fine lacing, excellent retention. Aromas of grapefruit, pine resin, floral notes, grass, caramel, biscuit. Medium body, crisp, velvety. Lightly sweet, medium bitter finish. Really enjoyable hop profile.

Hops: Nugget, Northern Brewer, Citra, Cascade, Centennial. Malt: Crystal. Poured from a bomber into a tumbler on 04.29.14. A: See through red/orange. Light head. S: Slight grapefruit, blood orange. Subtle notes. T: Citrus, flower, caramel, tangerine. Also slight graham cracker. O: Citrus and floral sweetness comes on, followed by caramel and graham cracker, then tangerine takes over and lingers. I loved this one. This was also well balanced as all Deschutes offerings are.

Although this is a Deschutes product, it doesnít quite measure up to my expectations. Itís very drinkable, though. Mouthfeel was thin and oily and the finish was rather short.

651 ml. bottle. BBD 12/13/14. Pours a medium, well retained, ivory head, with heavy lacing, over a slightly hazy, medium amber (SRM 12) body....nose is toasted malts, with biscuit, hops add pine, resin, hints of citrus including grapefruit, tangerine, light earth, hints of mint, balance to the hops....taste is slightly sweet with toffee/caramel tones, tangerine, earth, light mint, pine resin finishing with a moderate lingering bitterness....mouth feel, slightly light of medium body, no alcohol, light acid, tingling carbonation. This is a delightful hop garden in both aroma and flavor. They were used very deftly, with each contributing, but at the end, enough, but not heavy bitterness. BJCP 9/3/14/4/7
