Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours a clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Piney hops and citrus in the nose, plus a bit of malt. Medium body with flavors of pale malt, citrus, hops and pine. The finish is hoppy with a lingering bitterness. Decent all around.

Draught @ Deschutes Portland:   Deep fiery amber, moderate off-white head, spotty lacing, light carbonation.   Hoppy nose, slight pine and citrus.   The serving glass makes it difficult to capture the aroma.   Hoppy, piney (the strongest of them all), and citrus peel on the tongue.   Definitley a strong Pale Ale without being overly bitter.   Me like!   Body and mouthfeel are fairly big.   Seems fairly malty, enough to balance the bittering bits.   A little astringent on the backside, but not too heavy.   Might be that citrus peel piece.   Lingering citrus zest.   This one has a lot of that, citrus peel and twang.   Good, big Pale Ale.
