It’s fitting this experimental pale ale was the first beer brewed at our Portland Pub. This XPA gets its bitter twist from Nugget, and Northern Brewer hops, then delivers a pronounced citrus kick from Cascade, Centennial and Citra hops. Consider this your next hop obsession.

22 oz bomber bought from "lifesource" in Salem OR. $3.69 Pours a clear orange hued ale with a good sized frothy cream coloured head. Nice enough hoppy aromas here. Floral and some citrius..goodish caramel malt backing. Taste si sweeter than first imagined..like sweet clementines. Nice bitter hop in the back of the mouth balances it somewhat but not all the way. Mouth feel is medium but i think the sweetness is a tad overdone and becomes a little cloying but not enought to make this a bad experience. OK APA..would drink again if offered

Bomber. Clear medium orange copper, off-white foam settles and mostly lasts. Fruity citrus hop aroma, slightly floral. Fruity orange citrus hop taste, mildly sweet pale malts, some floral herbal notes, clean and lightly bitter. Softer than average carbonation, lighter bodied, moderately hopped. Very nice. Bottle. Amber-hued gold, lasting white head. Pleasing pine and citrus oil hops, biscuit malts, long bitter finish. Thanks for finally getting this into bottles Deschutes!

I had a pint of this on a nitro draft at Funck’s near Hershey. This is a fantastic APA! The pour was light golden with a huge, soft and pillowy white head. The head left a huge amount of lacing around the glass. The nose was quite hoppy with some bready notes. The body was soft, velvety smooth and extremely drinkable. The flavors contained plenty of delicious, floral and resiny hops, along with some citrus, wheat and bread. This was an incredibly awesome APA!

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, apricot, orange/grapefruit), lightly to moderately yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety/creamy texture, lively carbonation. Simple, plain, and mild, but pleasant enough. A bit doughy.

Nice aromas and flavors of sweet fruit, mostly citrus. Not as bitter as many other pale ales but definitely sweeter. Body was a bit thin. A very good pale ale.

Un pale ale très malté. Pas trop amer. Facile à boire et très agréable mais rien de trop spéciale. Très bien équilibré. Couleur du cuivre avec un tête moyen beige. L’arôme est du malt et agrumes mais c’est un peu sourdine.

On nitro. Really smooth and creamy. Nice floral and hop aroma with citrus and pine flavors. Would like to try bottled too.

Bottle. Clear amber color with ivory head. Subtle floral, citrusy hop aromas. Medium bodied with average co2. Nice mildly bitter citrus, floral hop flavors with lightly sweet pale malt---good.

650 ml bottle. Pours a yellow/copper with very light head. Aromas of brown sugar, rubber, dry fruity marmalade and pine. Flavors of toast, pine, and bitter citrus rinds. Clean, bitter finish but expecting more based on the aromas.

On tap at Thai me up in Jackson Wyoming it is a clear light ambercolor with a creamy head due to the fact it is a nitrous. It has a pineapple aroma and the taste is light and bitter on the palate
