Looks nice; can’t place the aroma. Really has a pretty dry grainy finish taht grows from very little at the start. A very pleasant ESB - much more hops than the average for the style, which I like.

Sampled from bottle. Pours pretty clear copper with a creamy off-white head and remarkable lacing. Rich toasted bread aroma with dark fruits also present. Nicely bitter with a crisp finish. The bitterness lingers. Medium-full body and zesty. A good esb.

Bottle. Had a good fruity aroma. Hazy gold body with beige head. Flavor had some good bitter citrus bite at first. Malt doninated the flavor from the middle till finish, which seem to disapate the bitter and turn the fruit flavor stale. Malty pale fruit on palate in the end.

From a hop embossed shaped brown bottle with a blurb on both the neck and front labels with a best before date, 06/28/06. Made a good appearance, poured a slightly hazy lightly tarnished copper with a foamy beige head that settled into a thin bubbly lacing, minimal amount of sticking, moderate ESB carbonation. Had a tasty nose of caramelized and biscuity malts with a light floral and herbal hops, a little fruity as well. A chewy, crisp and malty smooth medium bodied mouthfeel, good drinkability. Nice sweet toasty taste, caramelized and grainy with a good biscuity, a smooth, light herbal hoppiness, soft in it’s bitterness, a touch of fruitiness emerges in the middle and a dry toasted caramel and grainy finish. Balanced and tasty ESB from Deschutes, I found this to be very enjoyable.

like a neon waffle, the bamboo orange tones of this ale glow as warm as a candle in darkness. the micro hop particles contained within are evidently in soft focus because the beer has a slightly murky amber opalescence. the pretty tan head is as even as the sod over a ball field. strong aroma of aged orange rind with just a hint of praline providing some sweet overtones. soft carbonation yields to the larger forces pressing within: the malts and hops are woven as tightly as a celtic filigree. the sinuous caramel malts and aromatic bitters bob up and down with the same marvelous synchronicity as the pistons in v8 engine: first woody malt, then citrus tang, and over and over again going down. nice session ale, neatly balanced with some occasionally cunning detail to linger over.

Poured a clear amber color with a minimal white head. Smells of citrus and hops, tastes of the same with malts and some floral tones. Smooth to drink with a pleasant hops finish.

Tap, 4oz sample. Tasty ESB. Pours copper colored and clear. A great off-white head forms and leaves good lacing in its wake. Floral and citric hop aroma. Medium bodied. Pleasant hop bitterness, perhaps a bit overdone per style, but it works. A touch soapy? Pleasant.
