| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 6, 2004 Light copper pour with a thin, but frothy off white head. Nutty aroma with a wort-like back end. Crisp, bittersweet flavor with some malty nutty accents and a little bit of caramel sweetness. Finsihes with a clean, hoppy bite - balanced very well. Clean, crisp mouthfeel. Another winner from Deschutes. JPDIPSO (4898), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 27, 2004 Bright copper color with a tall slightly rocky light tan head with sheets of lace. Absolutely one of the most balanced aromas I have had in many o’ brews. Seamless mingling between english malt, fresh green hops and yeasty bread. Light sweet start which leads to lightly stewed fruit and pale malt. Finish is rich and malt laden. Firm and lightly oily feel. A touch too sweet as it warms, but I like malt and balance, and this one has a lot of both. OD40oz (600), Box Elder, South Dakota, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 13, 2004 The copper with a slight haze is topped by a soupy, white head. The aroma is slightly hoppy with a bit of light caramel malt. The flavor is mostly the malt, the caramel again with a bit of nuttiness. The hops just peek around the edges of the malt, but this is a pretty tasty and drinkable beer. SpringsLicker (2042), Tennessee, USA

Clear, light amber colored beer pours into the glass and creates a small off white head. Malty caramel and a hint of hops form the aroma coming from this one. Smooth creamy palate, well balanced. Could use a little more bitterness in the finish but it’s a very drinkable ESB. Suttree (2708), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2004 Pours copper, like a new penny. mild and mellow, with rich creamy palate. Restrained but not boring, it seems similiar to some English ESBs I’ve had.
