Bottle, courtesy of SuzyGreenberg. Pours orange and reddish/copper with a small beige head that leaves some blebby lacing. Aromas of caramel malt, slight orangepeel, and raspberry. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, and bitter pine and grass. Medium body and carbonation, and very smooth. Pretty nice beer. Thanks Ben!

Bottle thrown in as an extra in a trade with SuzyGreenberg. Thanks! Pours a hazy amber with a thin tan head. Nice hop aroma. A little thin on the palate, but a nice hop flavor. Seems like there should be a little more malt flavor. Overall, a nice ESB.

Great looking amber color with an off white head that adds a creamy texture to the overall experience. Malt body is decent with a nice sweetness and caramel flavor added in. Aroma is surprising with a little bit of citrus. The overly bittered up english style here is much more reminiscent of an american hop profile but I like it. The hop flavor profile is sticky pine on the finish with a bit of citrus mid palate. From my new friend out west. Thank you.

Fruity aroma. Amber coloured a little rich on the palate and strong in alcohol with a hint of dryness in a bitter malt finish.

Reddish gold, thin off-white head. Very faint aroma, malty. Malt-forward and then a big hit of bitterness, slight dark cherry note on the finish. Low carbonation and light body.

From cask. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a bubble white head. Aroma is mild hoppy and fruity. Sweet and wooden malty, caramelish, slight breadish. Bitter and dry into a mild wooden and flat caramelish malt finish.

Very nice amber orange color, foamy beige head. Aroma of mild caramel grain and floral hops. Taste has a perfect balance of malt and hop with a medium body and a short lingering bitterness. Very well done and at $6.50 a sixer it’s a go to beer anytime.

Bottle from Ben (aka SuzyG...). Pours amber with a foamy 4 finger beige head. Aroma is floral over mildly roasted caramel. Medium body; pretty foamy carbonation. It is hoppy. Floral, not harsh or super bitter. It’s very hoppy. The guys over the pond might die, but I think this is the way ESB should be. Been looking for this for a long time. Worth the wait.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Gooney (297) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 2, 2010
12 oz bottle from Fred Meyer - Not much in the way of aroma, but the taste is quite good. Hoppiness without a ton of bitterness. Very good balance. Quite a good beer.
