Lots of wonderful hops and a caramel maltiness that make for a great aroma. The taste starts off smooth and malty with a sublte toasty maltiness, then finishes with a great hoppy bitterness and a bit of grapefruit in the hopped finish. A well rounded clean and crisp taste thats makes this one of my favorite deschutes brews. cbkschubert (2031), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

There is a slightly chalky roasted malt flavor with a balanced hop bitterness and some spice. Not bad. HogTownHarry (4037), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Clear amber with an average white head. Sweet malt aroma, tea, herbal hops, grainy. Taste- same, hoppy, tea, light malt, bitter finish. Solid body, very astringent, long linger, decent carbonation - excellent US take on an ESB - a little hoppy, but nice. greenhorn1 (462), Mission Viejo, California, USA

Great tempered hop balance, just the right amount to blend with the even malt texture. Good example of style. NomDeBeer (403), Maryland, USA

I suppose my Beer God ststus will be revoked for that. Both beers were good though - enjoyable, lightly hopped thirst-quenchers.
