| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 17, 2007 This porter is a very dark chocolate brown with a fizzy khaki head. The aroma is of sweet dark malt and fresh medicinal hops-- perhaps wintergreen. It is full-bodied, smooth, and slightly chalky. The flavor has a hollow bitterness. In addition to the roasted malt flavor, there is citrus, mint and... caraway? Very unique. I’ve always been a fan of this one. badlizard (2425), Berkeley, California, USA

Sweet lightly chocolate scented aroma. Sweet smooth taste. Nothing particularly special about this one - a run of the mill porter. StumpMe (30), Bellingham, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 9, 2007 I had this one out of the bottle; thick body, malty sweet aroma and taste. For the style, It surprisely finishes pretty light. Not a lot to say about it, nothing stands out for me. Average. 184601 (145), Mexicali, Mexico

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2007 12oz bottle. Courtesy of Degarth via trade. Pours a nice soothing dark brown-black. Thin head quicky disappears. Aroma is chocolate, roasted grain and a touch of earthy hops and yeast. Flavor is roasty, earthy grains, chocolate, a small hint of caramel, gentle hop bitterness and a surprising does of dark fruit tones -- dried dark cherries perhaps. Finishes with a medium to slightly thin mouthfeel. Not bad, but I waited a year to drink this and probably should have drank it sooner.
