4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I havenít been privy to any recipe changes (by the way...another big thanks to BrooklynBoy for this one) but I love this. Pours dark brown with more creamy, tan head than a Georgetown fraternity party. Aroma of malt, chocoff, fruit, berries. Tastes malty, roasty, creamy, velvety, with some milk stoutiness, and a nice berry, fruit, super smooth finish. I could drink this stuff all night long. The finish also had a slight rauchy, chocolate syrupy element to it. If anyone has older bottles of this, please beer mail me. If indeed there was a recipe change, Iíd love to do a side-by-side. Regardless, I love this beer as it is, as such, and thatís the bottom line, because DocLock said so, punks!

Has a sweet and nutty aroma with a great fresh smell of hops. Pours dark brown with a fading beige head. Has a nice well balanced taste of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and some smoked flavours. The smoked flavours compliments the beer very well.

Bottle. Very dark brown/amber, some powdery light brown sediment, creamy tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate, roasty, cereal, caramel, black cherry. Creamy and smooth. A balanced bitterness on the front with a sweet body. Some boozy, whiskey undertones. Altogether complex and delicious.

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2013 Dark color. Black. Foamy and heady. Chocolate aroma and taste. Almost but not quite sweet. Just enough balance to negate it. A classic porter and a breath of fresh air

Amazing flavors without too forceful of a roast aftertaste. Only knock is that the carbonation might be slightly too much for my taste.

Kind of watery for a porter but has a real nice balance of nut and sweet taste

Pours coffee black with a huge chocolate, malty, roast aroma, followed by a deep, intense malt base, with just the right amount of bitterness to frame all the flavors.
