Served in a 14 oz glass. One finger of head on a black body.
The smell is all roasted malt, which is great.
The taste is roasted malt, coffee and milk. Itís deep and bold.
The texture is smooth with low carbonation and medium body.
Itís a robust porter with great flavor.

Amazing flavors without too forceful of a roast aftertaste. Only knock is that the carbonation might be slightly too much for my taste.

Kind of watery for a porter but has a real nice balance of nut and sweet taste

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours coffee black with a huge chocolate, malty, roast aroma, followed by a deep, intense malt base, with just the right amount of bitterness to frame all the flavors.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
My first Deschutes and still one of my favorites. Its chocolatey, roasted character and hop tinge are spot on.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
650ML 22oz bottle: Roasty, chocolate, hop bitterness & earthiness. Taste is same but a tad watery. Veary heavy bodied. Like a desert beer. Taste higher % then it is. Jet black w/brown head. Veary heavy bodied, but good. Too heavy bodied for style but thatís all from this porter having more hops then some other porterís.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
650ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a very dark caramel brown with a frothy, two-finger, mocha head that leaves mild lacing
Aroma is noticeable. Big notes of roasted malts balanced by fruity hops. Hints of chocolate and coffee as well. Smells really good.
Taste starts off with big roasted malts then moves straight to bitter chocolate and ends with some slight coffee.
Medium body with a low-medium carbonation. Rather clean and refreshing in the mouth with a very slight creamy texture. Surprising refreshing this is.
Overall this is a nice drew. The amount of hops in the aroma is deceiving. The taste is way more roasted and chocolaty. Refreshing mouth feel paired with its 5.2%abv. makes this a very sessionable beer. Would probably buy again if I didnít see anything new to try. Cheers
