4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with thick lingering pale mocha head. Aroma is roasty malts with hints of chocolate and coffee. Taste is smooth, bitter lightly charred chocolate malts, with nice hops on the finish. Impressively rich flavor for such a thin, drinkable body. For a straight porter, this is one of the best around.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Btl pours a very dark brown color with a big tan creamy head, looks exactly the way a beer should look, beautiful! It lingers for a while then leaves huge ribbons of lace on glass. Smells of cocoa, coffee and a hint of smoke.Tastes of chocolate, toast, ash,and earth. Light body, thin, creamy, slightly bitter mouthfeel, perfect carbonation and a bold roasty finish. Nice malty flavors and the light body make this beer easy to consume. Decent offering.

Delicious. Bright at first with lots of chocolate, slightly ashy, satisfying creamy palate. Well balanced, excellent!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 29, 2015 Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, bread, mostly roast. Appearance is dark brown, beige head, poured thin. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, yeast, thin. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, decent carbonation. Overall, I?m a little disappointed. For a brewery I hold in high regard, I expected this to be better.

3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a dark brown with t thin tan head. Has a faint aroma of sweet malts and chocolate. Medium body but a tad thin. Flavor of roasted malt with a hint of chocolate and coffee. Slight carbonation with a smooth roasty finish. Flavors don’t linger around much. It could use a little more punch. Overall not bad, just a little on the weak side.

Moderate chocolate notes. Light coffee, faint milk and cereal grains. Not revolutionary but good and pretty easy to drink.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a dark brown. Huge khaki head with pretty clean lacing.
Aroma is milky and slightly coffee and chocolate. It has some prune juice smell, but not much. Smells malty. I also smell smokiness. Smells great.
Taste is creamy and smooth. There’s some smoky and char flavor. It has some coffee and maybe some chocolate. There’s some decent dark roasted malt. It’s flavorful. Easy to drink, but you want to sip and savor.
Mouthfeel is so smooth. It’s creamy. It’s thin, but super drinkable. It’s pretty dry. Leaves slightly smoky aftertaste.
Overall, this is amazing. I like porters and I love this. You must try this one!

Een vreemde potterbier. Zeer donker van kleur, bijna een stout. Wel goed te drinken.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
There sadly isn’t much of an aroma on this thing and it only has modest head on top of a black ruby body. Flavour is a weak affair with only hints of barley and a medium finish. Just meh after some other more spectacular beers.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours dark brown with tall, short-lived beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate and coffee. Medium-high carbonation and thin body. Flavor follows aroma with a slight sour and bitter aftertaste. Decent, enjoyable beer overall. However, porter is one of my favorite styles, so there are others I’d go to before coming back to this one.
