masonjer (429), Lansing, Michigan, USA Jun 19, 2008 Thanks to brewdad for the bottle. Poured an opaque black into the glass. Smell was bittersweet chocolate. Taste had lots of chocolate as well, nice balancing bitterness, creamy, and a touch of coffee. Really nice example of the style.

Really great porter. Chocolate, coffee and dark smoke notes. Great hop balance around the dark flavors. A great, classic, solid porter that you can never go wrong with. NoiZe (875), Zeist, Netherlands Aug 16, 2008 Tasted somewhere along my trip through the States.
Nice porter. Black colored brew. Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee in aroma and flavor. Balanced bitterness and smooth and creamy. Nice. RedSox2004 (152), Pacific Palisades, California, USA Aug 9, 2008 Poured dark braown with a thin tan head that left ok lacing. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate with a touch of hops. Wonderful flavors that mirrored the smell, with an underlying toaste biscuit flavor and perfectly balanced hops bitterness. Burnt sugar and a wisp of alcohol in the aftertaste. Medium body, good carbonation and a smooth, rich mouthfeel. This is one of my favorite porters. Hophead22 (132), Redlands, California, USA Aug 7, 2008 12oz bottle. poured dark red/brown, white head.
