My fiancee’s favorite beer. Mild chocolate, toasty and sweet aromas from a very dark amber beer. The taste is clean, malty and sweet with more than a little effervescence.

Smells and tastes of black liquorice, roast, noble hops, fudge and chocolate malt. Win!

This is a nice smooth beer. Dark brown head with a pillowy ran head. Roasty earthy earthy malt nose, but the flavor is a bit heavier on the chocolate malt. Not the biggest fan of malty styles, but this well done

Pours with a tall mocha head, thick and dense that lingers throughtout leaving good lacing. The beer itself is deep brown/black. In the nose roasted malts rule the day, quite nearly burnt as well. Not picking up much on hops, but really shouldn’t anyway. Deep roasted malt is the taste with hints of dark chocolate and coffee. The beer has a smooth and creamy feel but also has a slighty watery feel too. Mildly bitter and semi-dry. A really good beer with a big complex malt bill thats sure to please time and time again.j

Bottle- Pours a deep brown color with a good tan head that slowly fades to ample lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and some roasted coffee. Very inviting. Taste of roasted malt and coffee along with dark chocolate. Mild bitterness and a dry finish. medium body, smooth and creamy. Very well balanced. Very good drinker, that goes down way too easy. Definitely top shelf in its class. Well worth checking out.

Aroma is yeast, dark malts and a light fruitiness. The flavor is chocolate, fruit and a mix of acidity and some hops in the finish.

Lighter in body than I expected, given the pitch black appearance. Subtle coffee and toffee flavor. I had it out of the tap, and didn’t get much of any foam at top, nor much palate feel (watery), nor any smell from that foamless head. It was a pretty pedestrian porter, and I’m wondering if I’ve been spoiled with big creamy porters from Founders.

aroma--coffee, toasted grains, tiny bit of hops and chocolate; appearance--dark brown, big head, dissipates quickly, dark cafe au lait head and persistent lacing; taste--bitter and sour; palate--medium body, creamy texture, very mild carbonation, long astringent, bitter and sour finish. Good porter but a bit thin

22oz bottle poured into shaker Aroma: chocolate malt. Hops. Earthy. Woody Appearance: Very dark brown pour. Little bit if tan head that faded quickly. Taste: medium sweet. Light sour. Light bitter. Palate: lively carbonation. Light body and thin texture. Bitter is light sweet and light bitter. Overall: This is a thin porter that is a bit hoppy. I'm not a huge fan of hoppy porters but it does have good flavor. This is better than boulevard bully porter but not my favorite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
