So, I’m on a really big imperial stout kick lately. I just scroll past most everything else pretty much. Don’t know why. This is my 2nd bomber of impy stout tonight and I’m ready to give it a proper review. So......... Pours a flat cola black, like a 2 week old 2 liter bottle of Pepsi, and you just poured the last glass from it. Looks flat and syrupy. Leaves a small head that eventually fades to a ring. Smell is nice... Light bourbon notes, roasty, anise. Mouthfeel is chewy and thick. Fuck, I like a mouthful of black thickness. Dry, roasty, alcohol hidden. Excellent beer. WORD TO YO MUTHA!!!

Bottle as shown. Pours a very dark brown with creamy medium tan head that lasts awhile leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a strong cocoa nibs and oak. Thin mouthfeel with sweet roasted malt and cocoa nibs flavor with nice sweet finish. A very good imperial porter from Deschutes.

On tap at Rosé and Crown. Pours very deep brown with a light brown head that fades quickly but leaves lacing. Boozy cocoa. Very bitter and full roast with bitter finish. Slightly hot with boozy bourbon notes.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s 30th Birthday Bash - CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to the ever-generous Bruce himself! Pours dark brown with a fine, beige cream head. Big chocolate malt nose, some milk chocolate, general dark sugars. Big sweet flavor, some charred malts, more dark sugars, moderate roast. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with bitter cocoa, charred wood, roasted malts, dark cocoa. Rich and very tasty.

Very bitter on the finish with notes of chocolate and coffee. I think I prefer the newer version over this one. Very tasty but a little too astringent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bruce’s Birthday Bash at the Craft Clerkenwell. Thanks again to Bruce for more birthday treats! Opaque black - brown beer, little pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry. Nice dark malts, minerals. A little coffee. Pinch of bourbon spice. Semi dry finish. Quite simple but so very drinkable!

Bottle. Immediately I know this is going to be a good beer. Pours black with a small, heavy tan head. Nose shows light bourbon, orange zest, some vanilla, molasses. Good balanced stuff. Taste is a great balance between bourbon, vanilla, spice and roasted malts. Light chocolate tones. Orange comes through as it warms. Superb beer

The taste is dtrong bourbon barrel, vanilla. Sweet raisin cake, bitter cocoa and chocolate. Slightly hot finish. Oily body, thick on the palate. Overall, not bad. Solid work.
