COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
XXIV. 24 years after Black Butte Porter’s debut, our potent, layered, imperial tribute returns. As usual, it’s a jazz riff, guided by the brewer’s muse and the lure of exotic ingredients. Artisanal dark chocolate nibs. Daglet dates. Mission figs. It may, possibly, hopefully, be the best edition yet. But, as it should be, you’ll be the judge of that.

deep dark brown pour, 1 finger head. Nose is HUGE on the licorice and chocolate. Chocolate, tobacco, smokiness and licorice. Very cheap burnt candies.

Right on for the style here, and an awesome interpretation. Rich black pour, small beige head. Nose and flavor bring chocolate, espresso, hints of dark fruit. Smooth, complex. Beautiful stuff.

22 oz. bottle served in a Southern Tier tulip. A: Pours a blackish color with brown highlights. A light khaki head. Recedes to a thin cap. Some splotchy lace is left down the glass. S: Oaky with some light roasty malts. C hocolate withe some figs and dark fruit flavors. Light boozy notes. T: Even more oaky than the nose suggests. Dark chocolate with a some roasted malts and brown sugar sweetness. Raisins and figs. Boozy sweetness on the backend, but not too hot. M: Medium bodied with a medium carbonation level. Sweet and roasty finish. O: This was too oaky at this point. Hopefully some time will blend the beer together a little better. Serving type: bottle
