This one was interesting, to say the least. The aroma was kind of weirdly dry cat foody but also with a nice little hint of orange marmalade. Slightly more bad than good. Flavor is an improvement, more of the fruity flavors but not really the roasty character I like in my imperial porters. I think the fruit is overplayed in this one.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber sample- appearance is typical dark porter , small beige head. Nose- meaty figs are predominant. taste- again a meaty earthy mix of burnt sugars, dark fruits, mineral, chocolate and anise. Finish is where the barrel notes come out, with a dryer wood note to level off the weight of the dark fruits and sugars.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a jet black with a thin beige head that doesn’t last long. Aroma is fig, dates, molasses and roasted malts with just a hint of char. The char is much more pronounced in the flavor. There’s also some slightly burnt chocolate with a bitter finish. Medium/full body with nice carbonation. Pretty good beer.
