3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at brewery. Dark pour with a mocha head. Raisin, dried gig, American oak, vanilla, dark chocolate, dark cherries, wine, port. Initially medium body that turns big. Bitter and acidic finish. Feels less of the alcohol. First impression was that this was less balanced than the other years but the balance is there when making larger tastes. A big beer

This beer has an aroma of dried fruit and is dark black with white head. It has a surprisingly sweet flavor of dates. Much much lighter than you would expect.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wax dipped bomber. Dark brownish black pour topped with a layer of tan foam. Aroma of berries, roasted malt and bourbon barrel upfront followed by notes of vanilla, dark fruits and chocolate. The taste is a blend of bittersweet chocolate, dark roasted malt and bourbon along with some currant, molasses, figs and coffee to round it out. Mouthfeel is thick and full-bodied with moderate carbonation and more charred malt and toasted oak in the finish. Overall, every bit as rich and flavorful as XXIV with the bonus of being even more drinkable and balanced.

Sampled at the halfway to fauxbab tasting. Smoke with a seafoam mouthfeel. It’s like abyss. And that’s not good.
