COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dates, figs and chocolate. Black currants, barrel-aged in bourbon casks. The result is an Imperial Porter with a tart berry and chocolate aroma with luscious layers of dried fruit, oak and vanilla. A fitting tribute to the 25th Anniversary of our flagship beer.

Intense aroma of berries, bitter chocolate, bourbon, and some oak. Get some berry on taste but bitter chocolate bursts at the end. Smooth finish with low carb. Great beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ tasting, courtesy of me, thnx to bytemesis for sending me this! Pours a very dark brown beer with a small off white head on top. Aroma of dark fruits, dates, molasses, raisins, toffee and chocolate. Flavor is very fruity, loads of vanilla and dark fruits are present. Some chocolate and coffee in the background accompanied by some woody presences. Very smooth, no alchohol burn whatsoever. Very nice brew!!

The beer is near black with an inch of beige head. The aroma brings roast, chocolate, honey, oak, vanilla. A lot of char in the flavor with formidable bitterness in the finish. Honey sweetness and boozy vanilla. A tad tannic. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Pretty good.

Visual: Now in their 25th edition with every year a little different and a bit more special. Pours ultra dark brown with virtually no head, a super thin layer of retention, lots of micro streams scattered throughout. Nose: super malty with some cocoa. (lvl-7)-pungency Attack: sour-sweet deep maltiness Mid-palate: fizzy-tingly, (lvl-7)-sweetness, (MAIN) fig/date fruitiness, malts, cocoa, black currant depth, coffee, bourbon booziness Finish: coffee bitterness, alcohol detection, malty bittersweet finish. Summary: Extremely well-bodied and drinkable, albiet very heavy malty. Having tried the 23rd version, I like that one better. This one is a bit more deep and sour whereas that one was citrus-chocolate spicy.

Bottle received in trade. Thank you metha! Pours reddish black with a big frothy mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of lacing and trace on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, dark chocolate, dates, sweetened dark roast coffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dried black currants and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and tiny fruity with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee, vanilla fudge, burnt wood, walnut shells, roasted coconut, raisins, dates, dried black currants, dried juniper berries and burnt caramel. Mouthfeel is round, tiny sticky sweet, roasted astringent and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter, malty and tiny fruity with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee, dried black currants, charred wood, vanilla fudge, roasted coconut and hints of dried juniper berries. Rather harshly bitter yes quite tasty...
