COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our 26th anniversary imperial porter was aged in bourbon barrels and dry spiced with theo chocolate’s cocoa nibs, revealing hints of vanilla and chocolate. Pomegranate molasses and Oregon cranberries complement the robust flavor with a hint of fruits and just enough tart to make you smile. Note:- Best After date can be found stamped on the left-hand side of the label.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Alon. Black with a tan head. Aroma of roast, a bit of charcoal, vanilla, dark fruits, cocoa, chocolate. Sweet and slightly tart flavor with roast, chocolate, berries, a bit of bourbon, a bit of pomegranate, vanilla, and a bit of bitterness in the finish. Full-bodied. Great.

It pours dark brown with a good sized tan head. The aroma has cream, vanilla, chocolate, molasses, licorice oak and alcohol. It has a smooth rich body with a lot of soft carbonation. It starts with rich full roasted porter malt, sharp fruit, dark chocolate and more alcohol. The finish has more sharpness and some astringency. Good.

This is one of the beers I buy multiples of each year to age and vertical and it never disappoints. This pours almost completely black with a minimal amount of tan head that disappeared quickly. The smell is vanilla upfront but you get some barrel and booze at the end. The flavor follows suit but mixes in a little chocolate and licorice. The feel is syrupy with carbonation, perfect for the style. I highly recommend this beer!

The pallet is very smooth throughly. This was tasted by the Cannery Row Beer Club. Cheers! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a huge creamy brown head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was fig, raisin, cola, cherry, toasty malts, read dough, marzipan, red meat and bacon. The flavor was red meat, red wine, toasty malts, bacon, cherry, fig and chocolate. Long finish. Full bodied and smooth. Solid but I was hoping for better.

Poured into a snifter. 4.5 A: Black color. One and a half fingers of creamy tan head. Retention is impressive for the ABV and a hearty ring of lacing is left. 4.25 S: Like usual this is interesting. Cranberries are quite strong and when combined with tangy molasses this becomes less and less of the usual porter. Big chocolate from the cocoa nibs, roasty malts, and bourbon undertones. Leather and earthiness as well as hints of oak and vanilla. 3.75 T: Not sure what to think about this. The cranberries seem to be at odds with the rest of the brew. It’s interesting, just doesn’t work that well. Still, this is quite tasty. Again lots of chocolate. The bourbon comes out a big more offering leather, earth, and a touch of mineral. Roastiness, molasses, and layers of caramel. 4.0 M: Heavier medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Reasonably creamy and super smooth. 4.0 D: It’s definitely a beer to try, but it didn’t blow me away. ★ 958 characters DavoleBomb, Oct 25, 2014

Bottle via and shared with oakbluff. Black in colour with moderate carbonation and tons of floaties. Aromas are of bourbon, dark caramel, dark chocolate, espresso, and mild cranberry. Very intense bourbon and dark chocolate flavor, along with pomegranate and molasses on the back end. Medium bodied with some balancing acidity. Really tasty stuff.

Label says best after 6/15; enjoyed on 12/24. Opaque dark dark brown, with a small tan head and oily lace. Aromas of chocolate and roasted malt, subtle booze, and hints of cranberries and molasses. Chocolate and caramel malt up front, accompanied by dark fruit, smokiness, brown sugar, bourbon and tartness. Full bodied, moderate carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and a lingering chocolate and booze in the finish. Wonderfully complex and well-balanced.

9 for aroma. WOW - bourbon, fruit, smoke, roast. 5 for palate. Taste was porter with carbonation and fruity tingling - I would prefer less cranberry but this is unique; bourbon and roast flavor are hidden. unique brew

650 ml bottle with a best after date of 6/14/2015. Color is deep dark brown, very thin head around the snifter. Aroma right from the pop of the cap is dark fruits with roasted malt and mellow bourbon tones.

The flavor shows a bold amount of pomegranate and very mild cranberry that gives a deep dark fruit nuance that melds with the roasted malt. It really reminds of a barrel aged barley wine. As far as the bourbon treatment, well... It is pretty tame. A tad more bourbon would balance all the fruit. Body is medium with a soft carbonation level. Slick texture over the tongue. Overall this still is a very finely made brew, as long as you enjoy pomegranate.
