COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our 26th anniversary imperial porter was aged in bourbon barrels and dry spiced with theo chocolate’s cocoa nibs, revealing hints of vanilla and chocolate. Pomegranate molasses and Oregon cranberries complement the robust flavor with a hint of fruits and just enough tart to make you smile.

2015 bottle. Dark black body with sediment and lasting foamy brown head. Sharp dried fruit, roasty cocoa, chocolate milk aroma. Taste is rich, and again very short, tart almost, hard to describe, acidic, roasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Oddball beer. Lots of cranberry that would do better more subtle. Pours black with good head and lacing. Bitter sour finish. Light roast. Bottle.

Bottle from Craft. Sampled with Dennis Bell and Knick Knack. Nice notes of cocoa, bourbon, wood, cherry, berry, chocolate, Earth, and bread. All ingredients were nicely blended. Excellent Porter. I wanted more.

Bottle. This is a nice full bodied porter with a good sweet fruit streak running through the middle. Beer equivalent of a chocolate fig newton.

Bottle shared at Anchorage Feb ’15 Tasting: Poured black with a huge tan/light brown head. Aroma is very sticky and sweet malts, vanilla, and fills the nose. Taste is sweet chocolate, coffee, and malt.

One full bodied beer. Dark fruit flavors suck as currants, fig and a little bit of cranberries. Not a lot of chocolate that I can detect. Good balance of alcohol. It’s definitely there but not overwhelming.

Bottle from Capitol Beer & Tap Room.. Pours near black with a huge tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a dark molasses and chocolate flavor with a sweet fruity finish. A little different from previous years.

Cranberries! That’s it! I apparently didn’t read the bottle closely because I hadn’t figured out what that slightly tart fruitiness lurking behind the chocolate and bourbon and such. Cranberry!

Phenomenal beer purchased for me by a friend (thanks, Mirek!). The pomegranate hints are a perfect match for the deep dark tones of this ale. Beautiful pour as well. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep, rich chocolatey brown with similar colored head that faded almost immediately. No collar or wisps or lacing but good legs. Aroma is big on the chocolate, deeply roasted malt, molasses, and earthy from the barrels. Taste is chocolate up front, tart pomegranate and a deep wet earthy malt base. Great full body and clings the the sides of your mouth and tongue and very low carbonation.
