truegen (137), Puyallup, Washington, USA Mar 13, 2007 Poured from 12oz. bottle. It has a great tawny copper brown color, without much head. I struggled to pick up much of a nose. Flavor tends toward butterscotch/brown sugar, and a good hp tang on the center of the tongue. Not a huge brown ale fan, but this is pretty quaffable. The lighter alcohol content makes a good change coming out of winter warmer season.
Zinister (877), Houston, Texas, USA Aug 3, 2008 Pours a deep tea color with not head. Nose of darker malt, caramel, toffee, biscuits and nuts. Flavor has malt, caramel and cherries. Mouthfeel is light and bubbly. Sweet and salty finish. JohnnyJ (654), Reno, Nevada, USA Jun 29, 2008 Pours a light brown with an off-white head. Caramel, roasted malt, biscuits, hops, and a bit of toasted nuts and chocolate. Not an amazing brown, but not bad and easy to drink. mpersinger (16), , California, USA Jun 28, 2008 12 oz. bottle in pint glass:Copper and bubbly with a beige head.
Tangy aroma.
Thin body apparent, sour cherry and metallic tastes, salty finish flattens out.
Dogbrick (2229), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 13, 2008 On draught at the New York Hotel (Ketchikan Coffee Company) in Ketchikan, AK. This beer pours a dark amber-brown color with a thin and lasting beige head. Stringy lacing on the glass. Roasted malt and nuts in the nose, along with some fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of roasted nuts, malt, chocolate and a bit of hops. The finish is sweet and malty with a lingering hops and fruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall. ditmier (189), Boise, Idaho, USA May 9, 2008 2008 Bottle - Puours a translucent brown with a small tan head....Like most browns, this is subtle malt and toasty grain, but buzzsaw also has a nice hop bitterness that other browns lack....nothing too great about this beer, but drinkable...
