Commercial Description:
Cascade Ale is crisp and refreshing. Generous herbal hop character and just a hint of caramel malt create a perfect balance.

courtesy of Laurent Mousson - clear bronze colour with almost no foam left; faint flowery nose; thin-bodied and quite watery; low bitterness, dusty and slightly fruity finish - a deception

6 ounce sample poured from a bottle at the Davis Beerfest. Metallic, lightly hempy, light pine, and grapefruit hop aroma. Not much else going on in the nose. Transparent golden body with a small white head and light lacing. Metallic, piney hop flavors present to start. Light crystal and caramel malt flavors are present in the middle. Not much else going on. Pretty boring and lacks anything interesting.

Pours amber with orange tint. White one inch head, good lacing. Aroma is fairly mild and herbal. Bitter citrus hops, malts secondary. Hops are grapefruit-orange in taste. Has the typical bitter finish. Closer to an APA than a blond in my opinion. Wouldn’t turn one down and would like to taste the draft version sometime. Easy drinker. Would guess IBU of about 25. From a bottle.

Not offensive in any way, but also not very good either, just middle of the road and one dimensional. Light nose of hops, that are somewhat grassy, flavor is pretty light and tame, a bit of honey sweet maltiness.. Finish just drops right off the palate.

Pours golden w/ a solid three finger head. Good head retention w/ sticky, fluffy lacing. Fruity aromas. Medim nectar w/ soft resiual effers. Mildly malted herbs and a bit citrusy. The finish is bittered mildly. Not real flavorful.

Clear light copper in color. Aroma of light aromatic hops. Not pungent in any way. Flavor is light maltiness with an herbal hop presence. Really mellow and smooth cascade hops. I thought they were a little spicier. But very nice to present this hop alone. Interesting.

1/1/08 with Bikesanbeer, and Deschutes was open even though we thought we it wouldn’t be open till the next day, 6th brewery of the trip. At the Brewery on draft. pours orangey yellow with a light hop nose. Taste is sweet and slightly bitter with a bit of a hoppy character.

Thanks to SS. Pours a dark golden color with a white head. Aroma is mostly hops. Tastes of sweet malt, hop, floral, spice. Finishes kind of thin with a good amount of carbonation.
