Commercial Description:
Cascade Ale is crisp and refreshing. Generous herbal hop character and just a hint of caramel malt create a perfect balance.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Fresh and almost perfumy aroma hops. Medium-bodied with a light carbonation, sweetish caramel and a discreet nuttiness. Dry and lightly bitter finish. A good session beer. 180908

Appearance – Pours a beautiful crisp looking orange with light yellow edges. The 1 an a half finger head was creamy white. There is a nice layer of foam left to protect the aromas trying to escape. Smell – Light crystal malt, light hops, I even pick up some corn? Smells like an APA to me. Taste – It is hard to describe this one because I taste something that resembles corn, but I can’t start to even believe that Deschutes uses corn in their brewing process of this beautiful beer. It is slightly citrusy, which is now taking over that ”corn” scare I had. I can taste some tangerines and lemons with a little hop back to it. Mouthfeel – Crisp, light, refreshing. This is what an APA is supposed to be. The carbonation is excellent, lends a nice crisp feel to the beer that says “take another sip.” Drinkability – This is definitely the perfect beer choice for me tonight. After a hard day’s work you just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy a nice light beer that won’t weigh you down. This is your perfect BMC alternative.

There is really nothing more that I can say about this, that the commerical description does not already say. A soothing nicely balanced easy drinking on a hot day kind of ale.

Simple well rounded beer. Pours a golden color. With hints of citrus hops and some malt characteristics in the nose. Mildly carbonated and well balanced hop and malt flavors. Pleasant summer drinking.

(Stockholm Beer Festival 2006) Orange, small head. Fruity aroma, some pumpkin and hops. Hoppy floral flavor, maybe a bit thin.

On Tap at the Brewpub. Very light golden with wisps of white head and lacing. Very fresh and clean. Light grains and very mild hops. An other wise unremarkable but pleasant beer. I supose Deschutes version of a "lawnmower" but a good on none the less.
