3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle. Pale wit-ish straw yellow pour with a medium white head. Aroma of big strong hops and wit spice, citrus zest, and fruity yeast. Notes of sourdough bread. Flavor is full of bready malts and tangy hops, keeping with the sour dough bread motif. Lots of citrus, some wit spice, mild yeast. Medium bodied and a nice drinker. An interesting beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - Yeast, lemon rind, grassy hops on the nose. Cloudy pale yellow with a thin head. Hoppy, grassy, tinge of bitterness, a bit of lemon and yeast. Very light and refreshing on the tongue. A great patio beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a unique and beautiful opaquely hazy pale pale pale gold - reminiscent of pineapple juice. Smells of musty funky orange peel, lemon zest, moldy hay. Tastes pretty one dimensional - just an onslaught of all the notes above. A very pleasant beer with a funky monk punch.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. A hazy pale yellow body makes this one look like a wit. There is a thin bright white head. The nose has some strong grapefruit. There is also some almonds and bread crust. Hints of clove come through on the nose. This tastes like a straight up wit, lots of clove and then some greater citrus grapefruit come through. There is also some ash in the finish. Not a wit fan and this does not help improve my perception.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle pours a pale straw yellow color with a small but lasting white head and some lacing. Aroma is more like a Belgian Witbier than an IPA. Wheat and spices are dominant, with some weak floral hops. Practically no malts. Body is light to medium with average carbonation. Very easily drinkable and refreshing, but not what I expected from something called an IPA

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nicest white IPA I have tried - aroma nice mix of mild IPA hoppiness with mild citrus of wit in the background; taste is pleasantly bitter but with nice wheat accents/balance present too; Belgian yeast gives excellent Belgo character and round out a very nice brew!

Deschutes doesn’t disappoint. I like it more the second time; the first time at a bar, I didn’t know what to make of it. Interesting mix of styles - floral, citrus hops, spiciness. Qualities of a hefeweizen with hops.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle from Binny’s-Des Plaines. Pours hazy pale yellow with white head. Aromas of zesty lemon, wheat, and perfumey hops. Flavors of grassy hops, lemon, wheat, and light spices. Body is a little thin and carbonation is a nice. OK so this is not your prototypical IPA or Wit, but I found this to be extremely refreshing and enjoyable. Sessionable at 5.6%. I drank a whole six pack and cannot remember the last time I did that with a single craft beer in one sitting. I will be revisiting this soon.
