Brewed with wheat and pilsner malt; this IPA displays beautiful citrus aromas from Cascade and Citra hops that meld with the esters of Belgian yeast. Think thirst quenching hopped-up wit beer with enough IBUs to warrant the IPA name.

Portland, Or - on tap at the Deschutes Portland Public House. Hazy light golden pour, soft pillowy white head that leaves light lacing. Lemony aroma with a hint of spearmint. Flavor has a refreshing lemony zest to it with some back end grains of paradise spiciness, very estery. Mouthfeel has a nice spritz to it. Excellent way to start a meal.

Bottle. Pours pale hazy lemon color with a soapy white head and shows some lacing. Aroma is gentle lemon citrus and yeast with some subtle malt and hops. Taste is again more subtle hops and citrus with the yeast and bread really showing towards the finish. Palate is thin with a good fizzy carbonation and a drying finish. Solid WIPA!

On tap @ 45 North. Pour looks like a wit-bier, decent white head, and some lacing. Aroma is a hop strain that I’ve never had before. Flavor is nicely hoppy, moderately carbonated, and lasting complex mouthfeel/aftertaste. Not sure what this beer is trying to be, but I know one thing: this beer would be a fantastic session beer with just enough hops to satisfy anybody on a warm day.

Smells and looks okay. This is definitely hoppy but there is quite a bit of wheatiness to it that detracts from the beer to me. Just didn’t quite work for me.

Pour a hazy yellow with a thick white foamy head and leaves good lacing. Smells of spices and hints of tropical. Tastes the same as it smelled but the the ingredients come out more. Mouthfeel is chewy and is on the medium side with good carbonation and a semi dry finish. Overall this is a good blend of an ipa and a white ale. Seems like the newest trend but Deschutes was one of the forerunners when the did Conflux #2 with Boulevard last year.

12oz. btl. Pours hazy yellow and cloudy. Little to no froth and very fizzy. Ok; first, the color is unusual. The aroma is bitter and smells of citrus floral hops. The taste reminds me of a German Hefe and Pils combination. Not really strong; very flavorful and lasting to the palate. I would lable this other than IPA...however; I just drink the beer, I don’t pour in the sweat and hours work to perfect a taste. At any rate; the beer is good!

Very very pale cloudy yellow, with puffy white head. Nose of wit spice with citrus and floral hops. Taste follows and is great. Complex but crisp and drinkable. Light but full of spice, and hop flavors. Not overly bitter at all, finishes more like a wit, which is the key to the beer I think.)

bottle. Light yellow, hazy, white head. Smells spicy, floral, not too heavy. Tastes, spicy, lightly bitter, lagerish. Not well balanced, the tastes just do not go together. A no-go.
