COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with wheat and pilsner malt; this IPA displays beautiful citrus aromas from Cascade and Citra hops that meld with the esters of Belgian yeast. Think thirst quenching hopped-up wit beer with enough IBUs to warrant the IPA name.

Sample at the Tap House Grill in Seattle. The beer is a hazed pale golden color with a medium thin and fizzy white head that burns away steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of spiced hops and fruit. Light and effervescent body with flavors of grassy hops, citrus and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with an herbal hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Looks like a wit, smells like a Wit, pours almost like a Wit and tastes like a pale thatís been infected. In itís defense, Iím not really a huge wit fan and this one doesnít sell me on the Wit-IPA combo.

12-oz. Pours a cloudy bright gold with a loose white head. Lots of sedimentarily ringed lace. Bright herbal minty orange nose, almost a little funk in the background. Kind of a nice nose, actually. Fizzy medium body. Coriander, oranges, mint, and a little bit of grass and hay on the mid palate. Light minty finish. Interesting little beer. Not quite what youíd expect from Deschutes. A little more outside.

A schizophrenic beer. Now like a wheat beer, now like a pilsener, now like an IPA. Some aroma is citrus, some pilsner grassiness. Light bodied with a finish that began papery, and but ended hoppy

12 oz. bottle- pours a very hazy straw golden with a decent two finger bone white head. The aroma is wheat up front, spicy pepper, and hops, but more wheat and pepper. The taste is wheat followed by a surprising medicinal flavor, and the finish is somewhat grainy, there should be more hops in my opinion, but it does have a nice lemony flavor. The taste is kind of muted, but it is still better than alot of beers out there, a quality beer that I think could have been better.

The first sip screamed "Belgian" at me. Iím all for experimenting and pushing boundaries, but that Belgian spiciness turned me off. Also, it could have used more hops

Draft. Golden-yellow beer with a white head. Grapefruit and yeast aroma. Yeast and wheat flavor with citrus. Medium bodied. Some bitterness. Yeast and wheat lingers with grain and citrus.

Bottle:   Pale yellowish straw, hazy, large frothy white head, nice lacing.   Spicy nose, citrus, a bit of hops, plus some candied citrus peel.   Smells inviting!   Not as spicy on the tongue, not hoppy.   Those come across as being subtle.   Seems a little more mealy than expected.   Was so excited with the aroma, but now let down with a less than bright spiciness.   Its also not terribly hoppy.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   The aroma lead me in a direction I was so hoping for, but was let down.   Not spicy or hoppy enough on the tongue.   Great nose, and great looking, but thats about it.   Still decent, but this could be oh so much better.   Great potential here, especially if they tweak it to give it more spiciness and hops.

Tap @ The Mayor of Old Town Foco. Hazy, light yellow appearance with a white head. Piney, a bit orange citrusy, yeasty aroma. Tangy, belgian yeasty, lemon/orange citrusy, tangy piney flavor. Maybe a bit soapy and a bit sweet but I like this one quite a bit.

I thought this was interesting and so far unique. Could have used a bit more of the "IPA" on it, but I would definitely recommend it. Fun beer.
