3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazey piss yellow in color with a frothy, white head. Poor lacing. Citrusy aroma with slight floral notes. There is a light sour taste with a very light bitter taste. This is a beer that finishes smooth. Light carbonation with a thin texture. I prefer an IPA to have more of a bit to it. But overall a sessionable beer.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a beautiful cloudy pale yellow with medium white head. Aroma of lemon, grass, and wheat. Flavor is of banana, wheat, heavy citrus, and light hop bitterness. Tastes much more like a Belgian wit than an IPA, which doesnít have me complaining. A very refreshing summer beer!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. for picnic. Interesting IPA with a definite Belgian flavor to it. It appears that twisting IPA recipes is all the rage these days but I donít think this beer does any one thing well. Though Iím not usually a stickler for style, this tastes too weird for an IPA, and too hoppy for a Belgian. Putting them together doesnít lead to the balanced brew Iíd hoped for.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: Pours a bright cloudy yellow with visible sediment in the body. Not much of a head on this guy, within seconds the foam subsides to a thin film.
Aroma: An aromatic battle of spicy wibier yeast and citrusy hop. In the end, the spicy fruity yeast nose wins.
Taste: Fruity spicy Belgian yeast, some citrus peel, coriander. Finishes spicy and metallic.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, active carbonation.
Overall: A very assertive witbier.

Now thatís how you make an IPA. Nice and light, crisp, fruity even. Kind of reminds me of a nice white wine.

Iím surprised that Deschutes is putting all their marbles on this collaboration with Boulevard Brewing. Available on tap, and in bottles thru out their distribution area this beer has a narrow following. No one that I have asked locally really likes this beer. Most of us that do not appreciate the belgian yeasty flavor mixed with Nw hpos have warmed up to this brew. In fact, when it first came out at the pub and I asked about it...the bartender said I wouldnít like it but gave me a taste. But thne he knew I like bigger hoppy beers. Try it. you may like it. But I canít drink a whole pint of it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at the Tap House Grill in Seattle. The beer is a hazed pale golden color with a medium thin and fizzy white head that burns away steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of spiced hops and fruit. Light and effervescent body with flavors of grassy hops, citrus and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with an herbal hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Looks like a wit, smells like a Wit, pours almost like a Wit and tastes like a pale thatís been infected. In itís defense, Iím not really a huge wit fan and this one doesnít sell me on the Wit-IPA combo.

12-oz. Pours a cloudy bright gold with a loose white head. Lots of sedimentarily ringed lace. Bright herbal minty orange nose, almost a little funk in the background. Kind of a nice nose, actually. Fizzy medium body. Coriander, oranges, mint, and a little bit of grass and hay on the mid palate. Light minty finish. Interesting little beer. Not quite what youíd expect from Deschutes. A little more outside.
