COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with wheat and pilsner malt; this IPA displays beautiful citrus aromas from Cascade and Citra hops that meld with the esters of Belgian yeast. Think thirst quenching hopped-up wit beer with enough IBUs to warrant the IPA name.

Appearance is pale straw and cloudy with thin white foam cap. Aroma is lemony citrus with a hint of esters from the Belgian yeast. Taste is slight bit of pale malt into slightly tart lemon with a subtle hop bite on the end. Bitterness is more in line with a pale ale than an IPA. Mouthfeel is fairly light considering the wheat. Finish is dry with nice clean bitterness. Overall, this feels like an American wheat that’s trying to be an IPA but not quite there. I think an American ale yeast would have been better served to accomplish that than the Belgian yeast

It pours hazy yellow with a minimal head. Aroma is pure citrus. Taste is a bitter shock in the beginning. Grapefruity/lemony all over the place. Malty and yeasty body as a Witbier. Watery and dry. Won’t try this again.

I do not wax on poetically about beer but I do know the quality of a beer once tasted. This review is not about my tastes but reinforces the numbers, which are arbitrary.

Sweet spices and hop nose. Pale yellow, cloudy. Spices with citrus finish. Sweet. Not my thing but decent well balanced beer

A bit wheaty for my taste, but this is very sessionable and refreshing. Medium-bodied, with lots of yeast up front of the light citrus fruit, finishing with moderate hop bite.

A wheaty, citrus, hoppy crisp and refreshing aroma and taste. Hoppy but pretty balanced.

Poured from the bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a very cloudy lemon-straw color with a large, foamy white head with good retention, lacing, and cling. Its aroma featured a blend of citrus, wheat, lemon, and straw notes, along with a yeast presence. The taste was mostly bitter with strong citrus and lemon flavors, along with a bit of grain, and a modest sour yeast effect. It was fairly lively and thinner in the mouth, with a dry body and good carbonation.

Cloudy hopfenweiss style beer. Aroma of lemon. Tastes of cloves and citrus with hoppy aftertaste but not overly bitter.

Aroma: very nice balance of citrus and hops; Appearance: light straw with white head that hangs around; some lacing; Taste: well layered with pleasant bitterness balanced with citrus notes; refreshing; Palate: medium body with long, lightly bitter finish; Overall: drinking a bottle past its best by date, so definitely interested in trying a fresher bottle. Better than expected.

@ Deschutes 16-3-10: En mild ipa med tydliga vetetoner. Verken mer eller mindre.
